Oona Doherty - Leather Jacket (world Premiere)

Leather Jacket by Oona Doherty is Bold Tendencies’ second full length commission.

Violent, physical and extreme, Leather Jacket uses the raw and relentless repetition of ‘the bounce’ - a method taught to Doherty by Guilherme Miotto whilst she was training and working for Netherlands-based dance performance group T.r.a.s.h.

The 60 minute work starts in silence, the live sound of the bodies builds to a purely physical crescendo without narrative, characters, script or set: the dancers make the music visually on the stage, or as Oona says “they are the track, and the track slaps...” The body sound functions to support and uplift the cast, affirming their capability, encouraging them to keep going, keep pushing, and never give up.Presented by Bold Tendencies.This is a 14+ event
