4 DAY SUMMER 'En Plein Air' Large Seascape drawing and painting course with Rebecca Westguard. Taking place in the beautiful fishing village of Johnshaven - North East Scotland.Experience the same mercurial coastline that inspired the late, great Joan Eardley.Capture village sites, sea waves, light and shoreline and consider the addition of figures (from life).• Work en plein air (weather permitting).
• Cosy and spacious studio to frequent, all day every day.
• Gather sketches, ideas and studies.
• Draw and paint with the option of mixed media.
• Create one large final piece.
• Relax and meet like-minded people.On two occasions (weather permitting) draped models will be posed on the shoreline for study.As always, tuition will be tailored to the level of each individual.Everyone is welcome. Beginners through to advanced.All materials and equipment provided with the exception of canvas. Primed (approx. A0) Corri-Cor and a sketchbook supplied.
En plein air equipment: travel easel and large folding director’s chair/table and studio equipment: easel/table/workspace supplied.Tea/coffee/light refreshments provided.
Johnshaven is a great place to visit and has three great venues serving food: The Anchor Hotel Restaurant. Hidden Treasure Tearoom and The Lobster Shop. The village is very popular with holiday makers, with many places offering accommodation.Bringing out the best in your creativity - with over 23 years teaching experience and 30 years life drawing: Rebecca Westguard is a distinctly skilled practising artist/educator delivering IN THE FLESH courses in sculpture, drawing and painting.Studio's take place in Johnshaven, Fittie and the Northern Arts Club.
