Rabbie Burns' Bottom Drawers
A musical comedy in one act. There is a strict age restriction no under 18 Years of age.A riotous musical comedy uncovering the scandalous side of Robert Burns. What happens when Scotlands national bards naughtiest works are dragged out into the open?Set in 1796, just after Burns death, his unsuspecting housekeeper stumbles upon a hidden stash of very explicit poetry and lyrics. Naturally the local literary society decides theres only one thing to do... put on a public reading! You, the audience, become the 18th-century townsfolk, invited to enjoy Burn's shocking and hilarious poetry like 'The Fornicator' alongside some surprisingly beautiful songs like 'My Love is Like a Red, Red Rose.Performed by Christine Weir and Cameron Robertson with musician Shahrukh Mubashir and directed by Clare Stopford, this raucous playlet gleefully mixes period drama with modern musical flair featuring keyboard, acoustic guitar and saxophone in defiance of historical accuracy.CAST & CREATIVE TEAM
