You will learn how to work with parish and workhouse material, from admissions and discharges to other key records, and how to interpret what they reveal. A key focus is turning these fragments into a clear, evidence-based account of an individuals life within the workhouse system.
Ideal for family and local historians, this course will help you move from documents to a grounded and carefully constructed life story. There will be the opportunity to have a tour of the archives.
