Joe has spent decades immersed in the city's blues, soul and funk traditions, from his years with Clarence "Gatemouth" Brown to his current role with the Kenny Wayne Shepherd Band. He spent years with Clarence "Gatemouth" Brown, including touring as support on Eric Clapton's 1995 world tour, and since 2017 has been the keyboard player with the Kenny Wayne Shepherd Band. He's also a longstanding New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival performer.Joe's own biography describes his playing as drawing on the tradition of Professor Longhair, Dr. John, Allen Toussaint and James Booker.
