Each month we will be holding Steam Days (Friday - Saturday) where our Heritage Lancashire Boilers and Steam Engine, Peace, will be running and bringing the mill back to its full glory. The Engine will be demonstrated for 20 minutes at intervals between 12pm - 4pm.
This will give visitors the unique experience of seeing not only Peace herself working as she would have done over 100 years ago, but also our world-famous weaving shed back in action as well! Marvel in the noise and see what life would have been like for Lancashire's mill workers. If you want to have the follow the full journey then why not join one of our guided tours or see one of our loom weaving demonstrations that we have throughout the day and see the complete process of coal to cloth. These Steam Days are perfect for anyone wanting a truly unique experience that will transport them back in time! Please note: The Engine will only be running on designated Steam Days and is not scheduled to run on other days for this season.
Please be aware that the mill can get very loud when our engine and looms are running, ear protection may be required if you have any sensitivity to loud and continuous noise.Confirmed 2026 Steam Days: Friday 24 and Saturday 25 July 2026 Friday 28 and Saturday 29 August 2026 Friday 25 & Saturday 26 September 2026 Friday 23 and Saturday 24 October 2026Other dates to be announced.
