Seating: UnreservedClaire Frances MacNeilClaire Frances MacNeil is an award-winning Gaelic singer, Ladies' Gold Medallist at the Royal National Md, and the first graduate of the MMus in Gaelic Song at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. In 2025, she was named a semi-finalist in BBC Radio Scotland's Young Traditional Musician of the Year, placing her among Scotland's leading emerging traditional musicians.
Rooted in Scotland's living song tradition, her performances draw on community knowledge, archival recordings, and oral history to bring Gaelic song to contemporary audiences with warmth, depth, and a strong sense of inheritance. Alongside her work with TEUD: The Hebridean Fiddle Project, recent highlights include the Canna House commission for the National Trust for Scotland, the live film score of FAODAIL, collaborations with Maggie MacInnes, and performances across Ireland, Germany, and France.Line-up:She is joined by friends and fellow musicians Pdruig Morrison and Kathleen MacDonald.Pdruig Morrison accordion & pianoFrom the island of Grimsay, in Uist in the Outer Hebrides, Pdruig Morrison is one of Scotlands most versatile composers and performers. His upbringing provides him with a deep inherited knowledge of the Gaelic tradition, and with fellow Uist musicians, he performs around the country with the six-piece band Beinn Lee. Pdruig was a finalist in the 2020 BBC Radio Scotland Young Musician of the Year, and received a Celtic Connections New Voices commission in that same year.Equally comfortable in the world of classical composition, Dr Pdruig Morrison has a PhD in composition from the Maynooth University having researched the synthesis of Scottish traditional music and contemporary composition. Pdruig has written music for the National Trust for Scotland, St Magnus International Festival, Thirteen North string ensemble, Hebrides Ensemble, HardRain SoloistEnsemble, Edinburgh International Book Festival, members of the Scottish Chamber Orchestra, and has scored eight soundtracks for TV and radio.Kathleen MacDonald fiddleKathleen MacDonald is a fiddle player from the North Peninsula of the Isle of Skye. A Gaelic speaker raised within the island's rich musical traditions, she has developed a distinctive style shaped by Highland piping traditions and Irish music.
A graduate of the BMus Traditional Music programme at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, Kathleen is an accomplished performer who has appeared at festivals, concerts and Gaelic cultural events across Scotland. She currently performs as a duo with guitarist Calum MacKinnon, bringing together fiddle-led arrangements rooted in the traditions of Skye and the wider Gaelic world.
