The Gregynog Young Musician Competition has become a prestigious event.Entrants must be aged 18 or under and have reached grade 5 or equivalent on any orchestral, brass band or percussion instrument.
Up to 18 contestants are selected to perform in the semi finals in front of a panel of specialist adjudicators. This takes place for a full day on Saturday, October 31st, 2026 in the Maidment Building, Shrewsbury School, Shrewsbury, SY3 7BA.
Five winners will be chosen to perform in the Grand Final. The winners compete that evening for the title of Gregynog Young Musician of the Year.
