Soprano - Emily KempThe first half features Jacques Ibertsexuberant Divertissement - a theatrical work bursting with humour, elegance and playfulness, where pastiche textures and jazz-inflected rhythms conjure a whirlwind of entertainment. Gustav Mahlers 4th Symphony, in a chamber-sized arrangement by Iain Farrington, occupies the rest of the programme.
