Aidan Comerford won the longest running new comedy competition in the world, “So You Think You’re Funny” at the Edinburgh Fringe festival, and has performed all over Ireland, the UK, and at Montreal Just For Laughs. After taking a break from musical comedy, he turned to writing, and is the author of “Cornflakes for Dinner, A Heart-breaking Comedy About Family Life” (Gill Books.) Then, a few years ago, he decided he would try to cure the anxiety and depression that had been gathering in his mind by writing about it in a new musical comedy show.Unfortunately, despite being one of the world’s most potent artforms (as fans of Bo Burnham, David O’ Doherty, and Flight Of The Conchords etc. will know) it turns out that musical comedy cannot cure anxiety and depression, especially when anxiety and depression are stopping you from writing musical comedy about anxiety and depression.
You see the conundrum, right?Come and celebrate with Aidan as he sings about how he climbed out of his own brainhole, and back onto the stage. This event is 18+
