IM Skills & Transitions Masterclass
Link the strokes, master the transitionsAP Race is proud to introduce a new learning experience within our amazing community, AP Race Masterclasses. With a maximum capacity of 30 swimmers per session, this opportunity has been meticulously designed for swimmers who want to go beyond participation and truly understand performance. Each Masterclass explores a specific performance theme, allowing swimmers to develop clarity around why they are doing something, not just what to do.Individual Medley racing requires more than competence in the four strokes, it demands seamless transitions and intelligent pacing. This Masterclass focuses on reducing speed loss between strokes and executing efficient crossover turns. Swimmers will practice linking the strokes, pacing awareness and technical adjustments required during each transition. Particular emphasis will be placed on maintaining momentum through the wall and adapting body position quickly when changing stroke patterns.By improving continuity across all four strokes, swimmers will develop greater control over IM racing. The goal is to build technical consistency and confidence so that transitions become strengths rather than vulnerabilities. Joining you on poolside will be our very own Head Coach, Will Bell and our experienced support coaches to ensure you get the very best out of the session. Please note, in order to attend this masterclass, you must be aged 8-17 years old, and part of a competitive swimming club. Age is based off the day of the masterclass you wish to attend. Spaces at each Masterclass are limited and the whole booking process will take place through Ticket Source, our Race Clinics booking partner.
