Pete Williams

“I’m a fan of the great Pete Williams.

He tells terrific stories set to beautiful melodies and sung with passion, charisma and heartfelt honesty.

He draws me in every time”. - IMELDA MAYPete Williams is a founding member of Dexys Midnight Runners and also a pivotal force in their recent resurgence as Dexys.

With three critically acclaimed albums to his name, he has rapidly earned a reputation for delivering blisteringly memorable live shows.

In 2021 he and his band joined the legendary Specials on a 21 day sold out ‘Protest Songs’ UK tour.

In 2024 they headlined the Lunar Stage at Moseley Folk Festival and performed a sold-out show at the brand new performance space at Birmingham Symphony Hall.

Williams was personally invited by Craig and Charlie Reid to open for the mighty Proclaimers, spanning a total of 30 live shows, and more recently with Andy Wellings completed a successful run of 15 sold out shows as special guests to Simon Fowler and Oscar Harrison (Ocean Colour Scene) on their semi-acoustic, 'Evening with' 2023 UK tour.“The songs are damn good” IGGY POP (BBC 6 Music)“What a fantastic songwriter and singer the man is.

We both thought that his first record 'See' was the stand out album of 2012.

Pete is a storyteller in his songs, and writes as a mature man who has lived and suffered and loved.

The soulfulness that Pete brings to everything that he does is inspiring.

He has the passion of a young writer, and the philosophical overview of a wise man."Charlie & Craig Reid (the proclaimers)“For me, it's all about recognising in another brother or sister that same appreciation that another side to this life exists.

We can smell each other out.

Pete smells good and is a damn fine man and musician.” - RICHARD HAWLEY★★★★ mojo magazine★★★★ the mirror“Like Elvis Costello and Paul McCartney, Williams has the ability to make magic of the mundane.”Classic rock magazine 8/10
