Pearl Ring Workshop
Level: Beginners
Join us for a one-day introduction to working with pearls and silver, where you’ll design and make your own pearl ring.Pearl jewellery is often defined by its simplicity, allowing the natural lustre and form of the pearl to take centre stage. In this workshop, you’ll explore how surface texture, proportion and subtle design choices can transform a simple ring into a distinctive, wearable piece. You’ll begin by experimenting with texture and pattern using tools such as a rolling mill, hammers and punches, working in copper and brass to build confidence and develop your ideas. The day includes a demonstration on forming a ring from wire, followed by time to practise before moving on to your final piece in sterling silver. You’ll then create your finished ring, learning how to prepare a setting and securely attach your chosen pearl using a traditional cup setting. With a selection of pearls in different sizes and colours available, you’ll be able to tailor your design to suit your own style. What You’ll Learn
Forming and sizing a ring from wire
Creating surface texture using a range of tools
Working in base and precious metals
