Guillaume Maupin (from Tartine de Clous) is a French singer, guitarist, and wanderer of melodies who moves with ease between folk ballads, punk energy, and songs whose origins have been softened by time. Onstage, he offers music like a conversation: intimate, generous, hilarious and full of surprises. His warm, unhurried voice invites listeners into a world where stories drift between languages, and where each tune feels discovered rather than performed. He reshapes familiar songs with subtle twists, revives forgotten ones with tenderness, and lets new ones emerge as if theyd always been there. In his hands, the simple act of singing becomes an invitationto listen, to remember, and to linger a little longer.Support comes from two highly talented and respected members of the Sheffield Folk and World Scene.
"Jo and Emily bring a sense of joy, fun, sensitivity and deep connection through their music. Both rooted in the Sheffield folk scene, they play for European folk dancing, ceilidhs, interactive music-making sessions and sometimes in the woods for passers by! With soaring improvisations and sensitive harmonies, their repertoire is a mixture of original and traditional music.Jo and Emily perform together in Fernleaf, and the Lantern Trio. Emily also tours internationally with Emily and the Simons folk dance trio, and Jo performs with Hekety ceilidh band and with Emergence Collective improvisation project.Emily plays fiddle, shruti box and vocals, Jo plays clarinet."
