Everyone is welcome to attend the City’s annual Remembrance Service to honour those who have lost their lives in conflict and service to their country. The Service will be preceded by a Veterans and Military Parade and the Lord Mayor’s Civic Procession, making its way from Guildhall Square to the Cenotaph in Watts Park, where the Remembrance Service will take place. Please note that this is an outdoor event within the park and attendees are advised to dress appropriately for the weather.
Attendees who may find it difficult to stand for the duration of the Service are welcome to bring a portable chair. There will be a pre-arranged wreath laying section within the Service for invited organisations and representatives.
Following this, members of the public wishing to lay a wreath on behalf of their family or organisation will be invited to do so.
Please listen for announcements during the Service.
Public wreath laying is limited to a maximum of two people per wreath, after which participants should return to the public viewing area.Alternatively, you may lay your wreath at the Cenotaph after the Service has concluded and take time for your own reflection. Please note that road closures will be in place from 07:00 around the Cenotaph and Guildhall Square to facilitate the event.
