The fourth instalment of Edinburgh Indiepop Collective’s Sunday matinees features three fantastic bands, all for less than the price of two pints in your average city centre bar.Arrows Meet: Fresh from supporting Belle & Sebastian at a sold out Kelvingrove Bandstand in July we bring you Arrows Meet.
Hard beats, funky grooves and engagingly ambiguous narratives by two artists from Perth Australia via Kuala Lumpur and Glasgow who reference sounds from Berlin and Miami.Baker Island: Hailing from Newcastle-upon-Tyne, Baker Island mix lush shoegazey moments with fun wonky sounds to create a whirlpool of noisy indie-pop, like “the fuzzy love child of Pavement and Pixies”.The Chop: The Chop was born after husband-and-wife duo Gemma Fleet and Andrew R Doig - also members of Glasgow post-punk band Dancer - saw fellow duo Guests perform in 2024.
Inspired by their stripped-back approach, they set out to create an art-pop project that could be performed almost anywhere with minimal equipment.
