But what about the women whose lives, choices and experiences shaped the towns story?Women of Monmouth is a 45-minute dramatic story walk bringing those women to the forefront.Beginning at Monmouth Castle, the walk takes you through four locations in the town centre, including Agincourt Square and Shire Hall, the Nelson Rooms on Glendower Street, and Rolls Hall. At each stop, a story unfolds introducing remarkable women connected to Monmouth and revealing the human stories behind some of the towns best-known places and events.This is not a traditional history tour. Through character, performance and storytelling, the women themselves take centre stage giving voice to their experiences, ambitions, struggles and triumphs.Come and discover the untold stories, hidden histories and unforgettable women of Monmouth.
Four stops. Forty-five minutes. A very different side of Monmouth.Please wear comfortable footwear as the experience involves walking between locations in the town centre, and dress appropriately for the weather.Meet at St Mary's Priory Church, Monmouth. Tickets will be required to join the tour.
