Bach: Christmas Oratorio

Join the Aberdeen Bach Choir as we celebrate our 70th anniversary by performing a selection of parts from J. S. Bachs baroque masterpiece, the Christmas Oratorio ( Weihnachtsoratorium ).The Aberdeen Bach Choir first performed this piece in St Machars Cathedral back in our inaugural year of 1956. Almost exactly 70 years later we will perform the piece again, this time supported by the wonderful Aberdeen Sinfonietta and four outstanding soloists; Elinor Rolfe-Johnson (soprano), Tom Lilburn (counter-tenor), Nathan Vale (tenor) and Ross Cumming (baritone).We will be performing (in German) parts:
1 - Birth of Jesus
2 - Annunciation to the shepherds
3 - Adoration of the shepherds
6 - Adoration of the Magi
