Alexandra Darolti Farquhar and Marina Sanchez Concert

Based in Glasgow, Marina Sanchez is a versatile cellist currently pursuing a PhD at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland in collaboration with St Andrews University. She completed her undergraduate studies in Granada and earned her Master's degree at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. Marina has been an active performer with Live Music Now Scotland and participated in residencies organised by Chamber Music Scotland. She is a member of several chamber ensembles, including the International Baroque Consort, Spanish Roses, and the Daniel Martinez Flamenco Company, with whom she has toured extensively across the UK, Europe, and America.Originally from Romania, Alexandra earned a BA and MA degree in violin performance of modern and contemporary pieces for solo violin in Cluj-Napoca, Romania. Alexandra moved to Scotland in 2017 and has since collaborated with Chamber Music Scotland, taught upper strings at Sistema Scotland, Robert Gordon's College and the University of Aberdeen. Currently she alternates between performing as a chamber musician, orchestral musician with the Mahler Players and running her own music studio "Nairn Violin Studio" where she teaches violin based on the Suzuki Method.Programme:
