Flowing Water presents
Wu Tiao Ren "Some Scenery" Earth Tour- Manchester
Some stories/scenes don't exist on postcards nor do they live inside vlogs...They live in overlooked corners of everyday life: in old notebooks, late-night conversations, roadside moments, and forgotten places.
"Some Scenery("一些风景")", originally released by Wu Tiao Ren in 2012, captures these fleeting yet powerful snapshots of reality. Fourteen years later, those images remain: a raw, unpolished vitality. After touring Brazil, Portugal, North America, Singapore, and Japan, Wu Tiao Ren's red plastic bag drifted toward the UK once more in May 2026.
What they bring is more than music-it's a living collection of stories and images. From small-town streets in HaiFeng to urban villages, from the sea breeze rushing on motorcycle rides to those who've been swept past by time, yet remain stubborn and still. Wu Tiao Ren will unfold a world that resists simple definition-a unique blend of music, storytelling and atmosphere. This time, come join them and become a piece of "Some Scenery".
Wu Tiao Ren (五条人)
Founded in 2008, Wu Tiao Ren is an influential Chinese band formed by Ren Ke (仁科) and Mao Tao (茂涛). With eleven albums to their name, they are widely recognised as one of the defining voices of China's independent music scene.
Blending folk and rock with distinct regional influences, Wu Tiao Ren's music is rooted in authenticity and cultural identity. Performing in both Mandarin and the Haifeng dialect, their lyrics vividly portray small-town life, individuals, and the realities of social change.
Their storytelling is direct, grounded, and often infused with subtle humour and sharp realism. By dissolving the boundaries between art and life and transcending divides of language, region, class, and generation. Wu Tiao Ren has cultivated a powerful and enduring presence, solidifying their status as a cultural phenomenon in contemporary China.
