With his songwriting Dave has engulfed himself in the masters of American roots music, remained true, but managed to produce “not...a sound of yesteryear that should be in a museum but real, modern and relevant that should be heard live” Blues Matters.Joining Dave in this lineup is Lucy Piper on drums "one of the UK's leading blues drummers" The Guardian.

Residing in Exeter, Devon, Lucy is the daughter of the late blues guitarist Julian Piper widely acknowledged as leading UK authority on blues.

Julian played guitar on Lazy Lester's 1987 album Rides Again which won a Blues Music Award.

Universally recognized as the highest award in blues music.In 2019 and 2020 Lucy worked with double Grammy Award winning Ruf Records on their annual ‘Blues Caravan’.

As well as appearing on USA based Ryan Perry's album High Risk, Low Reward which was nominated for a Blues Music Award 2020.Lucy and Dave have been performing regularly together since 2022 with many appearances at various festivals and art centres. 2024 performances included Gloucester Blues Festival, and Congleton Jazz & Blues Festival, Cheshire, as well as making their first major festival appearance at Wilderness Festival, Oxfordshire.

In 2025 the duo made appearances at York Blues Festival, Upton Blues Festival, The Great British Rhythm & Blues Festival, Lancashire and many others.
