Nature Connects

We Live Here, Rochester Cathedral & Medway Diversity Forum present an evening of music & spoken word and a Harvest Feast.“Earth is my mother...

Upon her stand the trees, the forest lords.

She bears the herbs of every healing virtue.

May Earth, rich in nourishment, bestow upon us her abundance.” Atharva Veda“Then the earth was created...

Mountains arose from the water, and immediately the cypress and the pine sprang forth together.

Then the streams divided... and the mountains were covered with forests.” Popol Vuh“...from so simple a beginning endless forms most beautiful and most wonderful have been, and are being, evolved.” Charles DarwinThrough music and spoken word, this unique event celebrates our personal, emotional, cultural and spiritual encounters with nature from the perspectives of different cultural traditions.

How do our beliefs about the origins of nature shape our experiences? How do we connect to nature in our daily lives? And how might our cultures, beliefs and traditions enable us to find a shared sense of responsibility for our planet?Following the performance, please join us for a celebratory Harvest Feast.Tickets are £5.
