Godspell

Godspell is a musical that uses a modern-day, New York City setting to tell a story based on the Gospel of Matthew, primarily through songs, parables, and a community of disciples.

The plot follows a group of young people who are recruited by John the Baptist to follow Jesus.

They form a troupe that acts out Jesus's teachings of love and tolerance, culminating in the passion story, his betrayal by Judas, crucifixion, and eventual resurrection.
