Archaeology is shedding new light on the mysterious builders of Britains long barrows and chambered tombs, but for centuries people told very different stories about what lay beneath these ancient hills.
Drop in to the Tithe Barn and gather round with a drink as storyteller Oliver Lavery weaves a tapestry of three traditional tales drawn from the
folklore of Britains passage graves and hidden places. Hear stories of tomb guardians, sleeping kings, fairy smiths and forgotten gods. A lively journey through the myths and legends that sprung up around Britains ancient monuments
long after their original builders had been forgotten.Free drop in event in the RAU's Tithe Barn bar in between the afternoon's two main talks.
