Stage to Change will be a one-day intensive theatre project delivered on a Wednesday during the summer holidays at The Rugeley Rose Theatre for young people aged 817 in Cannock Chase. The programme aligns with the Space objective of providing structured diversionary activity during periods when youth-related ASB typically increases. Throughout the day, participants will engage in acting, movement, music and backstage production (lighting, sound and set design). Young people will co-create a short performance exploring themes such as choices, respect, community pride and positive relationships. To allow us to run just over one day, we will already have the script written and will already have lighting designed it does mean students wouldnt be able to program the lighting for the production their selves or write the script themselves but we will discuss the process of these activities. The schedule of the day looks like:- 9am till 10am Ice Breaker, introducing the team, tour of the theatre, and introducing plan of the day
- 10am till 12pm Script readthrough, acting and movement workshop
- 12pm till 2pm - Block production with discussions around Set and Lighting detailing why certain lightingand music has been used (delivered by Tech Engineer)
- 2pm till 3pm, presentation of play and hand out certificates of attendance and allow photo opportunities.
