Simon Armitage, Poet Laureate - St Petroc's Session

Join us for an evening of poetry and insights. Simon Armitage is a celebrated poet, lyricist and translator who also writes for theatre, television and radio. A popular performer known for his grit, wit and a focus on the everyday, Simon Armitage will read from a range of his work including new unpublished poems. You will have a chance to ask questions and he will sign books afterwards. Armitages numerous awards include the Queen's Gold Medal for Poetry. He has published over a dozen poetry collections including Seeing Stars, The Unaccompanied and New Cemetery. His book Magnetic Field: The Marsden Poems centres on the moorland village where he grew up in West Yorkshire.
