The story linking Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream with Sir Thomas Heneage's Copped Hall is part of folklore and so we are delighted to announce this performance by East 15. As would have been the case in Shakespeare's own Globe Theatre, our productions are adapted for and created by the company. This ensemble spirit is a crucial part of our ethos at East 15 Acting School. Now part of the University of Essex, East 15 was founded over 65 years ago by Maggie Bury to train actors in the tradition of Joan Littlewood's Theatre Workshop Company at the Theatre Royal Stratford, London.
We are delighted to bring you A Midsummer Night's Dream, directed by Hannah Miller, in which our actors, who have been training together for the last 2 years, use all their individual and collaborative company skills to present a thrilling production.Early booking is recommended for this popular event. The play takes place in the Saloon on the First Floor of the Mansion. Access currently is only via staircase as there is no lift.
Please contact the Box Office is you believe access may be a problem.
The performance will be of approximately two hours. There will be no intermission but the Copped Hall bar will be available for refreshments throughout.
No dogs will be allowed on site for this event.
