Bmts Presents Come From Away

Brentwood Musical Theatre Society presents the remarkable true musical 'Come From Away' at Brentwood Theatre this October, bringing an unforgettable story of human resilience and unexpected friendship to your local stage.Marking 25 years since the historic events of September 11th 2001, this powerful production takes you to Gander, Newfoundland- a tiny Canadian island that suddenly became the epicenter of the world when 38 commercial planes were forced to land there unexpectedly.

In an instant, the small town's population doubled.

Whilst the world watched a global tragedy unfold, the residents of Gander didn't hesitate in opening their hearts and homes to 7,000 stranded passengers from every corner of the globe.Based on real-life people and interviews with the locals and passengers who lived through that extraordinary week, Come From Away weaves together a rich tapestry of characters.

Driven by a soaring, foot-stomping Celtic folk score, this fast-paced production moves seamlessly to capture both the high energy and the deep tenderness of the islanders' legendary hospitality.

It is a triumphant, hilarious, and deeply moving celebration of hope that will reassure you of the immense capacity for kindness in the human spirit.Traditionally performed by a company of 12, we are bringing more people and passion to our stage, performed in the thrust (3 sided audience).

You won't want to miss our new take on this show! The production runs in a continuous 1 hour and 40 minutes with no interval.
