Award winning blues-rock artist Laurence Jones comes to Malvern Cube with his debut solo acoustic On My Own tour, returning to his roots: pure blues! The award-winning and critically acclaimed blues artist from Liverpool has opened for the likes of Ringo Starr, Sir Van Morrison, Jeff Beck, Johnny Winter, Walter Trout and recently Status Quo.
After Joining Buddy Guy on stage to jam and experience the blues first hand, Buddy remarked "Hes like a young Eric Clapton" and that pretty much says it all.Laurence has just released his most personal album to date, his first ever solo acoustic album. On My Own is an intimate record that explores recent health struggles and takes him back to his roots where it all began. The album marks a new chapter for Jones, following what he describes as the most difficult year of his life battling Crohns disease. Written during a flare up, On My Own reflects raw truths about living with this invisible illness, love, and life on the road. For Jones, it represents both survival and reinvention. Drs orders meant Jones had to re-think his high energy stage performances, trading in constant movement for a setup that allows him to sit and play. The change sparked a new creative path thats raw and organic offering a side to him fans have not seen before. Living with Crohns disease has shaped not only Jones music but also his perspective, as an ambassador forCrohns & Colitis UK, he hopes the album will resonate with others facing any struggles & invisible disease.Determined to do things differently he set up his own label Ron Records, named in loving memory of his grandfather. On My Own is a story driven record, weaving traditional blues with honest autobiographical story telling. His classical guitar training begun at age 8, which he completed his Grade 8 distinction. Now fused with his lifelong passion for the Blues and playing homage to some of his blues heroes like Robert Johnson and Lightnin Hopkins. This is a blues show not to be missed!Despite his health challenges, Jones continues to add to a career that already includes multiple British Blues Awards, over 50,000 albums sold worldwide, #1 album in the Official UK Jazz & Blues chart. This time, however, the focus is less on charts and accolades and more on telling his story through stripped-down, heartfelt blues. There are many singer-songwriters but not many as accomplished as Laurence Jones - Blues In BritianReal & raw, his most honest work yet - Classic Rock MagazineA truly amazing piece of work - Blues Rock ReviewClassically trained guitarist Laurence Jones is a master of Blues/Rock-Fatea MagazineJust acoustic blues, raw emotion & resilience-Blues Magazine NLMusic Radarvoted Laurence one of the world's TOP 10 blues guitaristsHes like a young Eric Clapton -Buddy GuyAmy Eftekhari(support)
