Ages 12+, 60 for 6 weeksJoin local historian Stephen Poulter online for this 6 week course looking at the lives of women in East Anglia from the Tudors to the Victorians. Stephen will use original manuscripts from the archives, along with online research, to uncover the stories of women from various social backgrounds who lived between 1500 and 1900. These include a Tudor Lady of the Manor, an elderly widow accused of witchcraft, and a Georgian Gentlewoman. By analysing historical documents, he aims to construct biographies of a segment of rural society that has been largely overlooked and marginalized. There will be the opportunity to arrange a visit to The Hold.
