The talk explains the importance of insects and other invertebrates that we can find in our gardens.
With rapidly declining biodiversity throughout the world and Britain being one of the most nature-depleted countries, its important that, where possible, we protect wildlife within our gardens. However, there are many creatures that can potentially harm our garden plants and so its understandable that our plants might need protecting from these Plant Pests.Nowadays though, we can effectively control plant pests without resorting to killing them with the toxic chemicals that unfortunately cause so much harm to other garden wildlife. This talk will reveal some of the techniques and products that will help us achieve this. Please note U3A talks now start at 2PM and are free to members, for non-members tickets are available at 4 in advance or on the door.
All welcome.
