This exhibition by Ian Trowell explores the coming together of the UKs inaugural punk band the Sex Pistols and the North Yorkshire seaside town of Scarborough.
The band played a handful of dates in Yorkshire to mark their first venture outside of the relative safety net of London where they had a growing following.
The gig at Scarborough Penthouse was their second date, falling on Thursday 20thMay 1976.
The band were relatively unknown and punk was yet to be named as a dangerous new subculture.
The exhibition revisits the time by contrasting the everydayness of Scarborough and the extraordinariness of the Sex Pistols.
