Sushyant: Compendium of Dominance and Dissent Book Launch Concert

This event is a book launch and live concert celebrating Sushyant: Compendium of Dominance and Dissent, the debut novel of Lousha Ryan.

Inspired by Persian mythology and the traditions of the Shahnameh, the book brings together prose, poetry, and music as part of its storytelling.The evening features the Staccato Persian Folk Ensemble led by Hossein Tavan, with original music by Lousha Ryan, alongside an author talk, live performance, and a post-event signing.

Charcoal illustrations from the book will also be used throughout the event.The novel reflects a tension important to Persian culture: the relationship between oral memory and written history.

In Sushyant, different forms on the page carry different ways of preserving memory, belief, and history, while music belongs to that same cultural inheritance.At the end of the evening, there will be an opportunity to purchase first editions of the novel and have them signed.
