Blacksmithing Experience - One-Day Course for Two People

Try your hand at traditional blacksmithing on an original Victorian forge which was relocated to the County Museum from Dog Lane, Bewdley in the 1960s.Throughout the day, experienced tutor Paul Ashmore will demonstrate a range of techniques, then you'll be able to work at your own pace using the forge, anvil, hammer, and tongs to create a variety of items to take home.The day is suitable for complete beginners (ages 11+) and those who want to gain additional experience in the forge. There will only be two students on each course, ensuring participants receive a quality experience.The course fee includes:Tuition from an experienced blacksmith

Gift vouchers can be purchased from the County Museum (valid for 12 months) by getting in touch via museum@worcestershire.gov.uk or 01299 250416. A date can then be arranged with the recipient.Bespoke dates can be arranged with you. Blacksmithing Experiences run from February to April and from September to December. This is usually on weekdays from Tuesday to Friday. However, we may be able to offer a Saturday, depending on the tutor's availability. Please get in touch - we'd love to discuss a date with you!
