Introduction to Woodturning

Skills You'll LearnSpindle turning, Faceplate turningAbout the CourseAn in-depth two days of woodturning.At the end of this course, even without any previous experience, you will get to take home a beautiful assortment of finished hardwood objects.Day 1You will learn the structure and safe use of the lathes with a variety of turning tools.

You will practice control by spindle turning with a freestyle exercise followed by a more traditional, technical object to turn.Day 2You will learn about materials, how to prepare and mount them, how to realise your own designs and apply finishes, and turning hardwood bowls through faceplate turning.The weekend affords you time to go at your own pace whilst being introduced to the joys of woodturning.
