Intro to Woven Darning for Knitwear Repair

Join repair specialist Em from Overstory Mending for a beginners darning workshop and learn how to get your knits back to be worn and loved!When better than Sustainable Fashion Week to learn the basics of woven darning so you can revive your damaged knitwear and turn wear and tear into little moments of magic?!Set up in the inspirationally curated vintage shop Pascal & Co, you’ll learn the how, when and where it is best to use woven darning, discover various tools and materials you can use and where to source them, with lots of tips along the way.

I’ll also show you how simple variations in colour and pattern can create fun visible repairs as well as discreet ones.This workshop is aimed at beginners, but all are welcome, whatever your sewing experience.All materials and refreshments will be provided, but you can bring any own tools and materials if you’d prefer to practice with your own, and a knitted garment or accessory to work on and/or get advice for repairing it.Each workshop is limited to 5 participants which means I can give each of you more time and attention to help you feel confident in your mending skills by the time you leave.
