Peter Donohoe was born in Manchester in 1953. He studied at Chetham's School of Music for seven years, graduated in music at Leeds University and went on to study at the Royal Northern College of Music with Derek Wyndham and in Paris with Olivier Messiaen and Yvonne Loriod. He is acclaimed as one of the foremost pianists of our time, for his musicianship, stylistic versatility and commanding technique.He will play the following programme:BUSONI: Variations on a theme of Chopin Op. 22

RACHMANINOV: Variations on a Theme of Chopin Op. 22Our piano, a fine 2015 Hamburg Steinway Model B Grand, is maintained by Steinways and tuned by them immediately before each recital.After the concert, we offer a splendid buffet tea of freshly-made sandwiches, with savouries, cakes and biscuits, accompanied by your choice of a glass of wine or unlimited tea, coffee or juice. Tea tickets are sold on the door for cash: Standard - £10; Students - £5; Youth Members of the Society - £4. We can cater for up to 70.
