Belper 250 Concert with John Tams

An evening of live music, exclusive videos and monologues celebrating Belper and its surrounds.Belper 250 Festival is a concert celebrating Belper in particular, and Derbyshire in general.

The evening features the legendary John Tams, Peak Poet Mark Gwynne Jones and music from Rakestone and Little Sparrow.

The evening will also feature a tribute to 'the Belper VC' Gunner Charles Edwin Stone VC MM.John Tams returns to the Belper stage after a two year absence.

He'll be leading the tribute to Charles Stone with songs and stories.Mark Gwynne Jones was described by the Guardian as inspired one of the most accomplished performance poets in the land.

Mark draws the audience into a world where things are not quite as they seem.The music from Rakestone will feature a selection of songs by John Tams.Rakestone bring music to life with a vibrant blend of traditional and contemporary favourites, delivering an uplifting and engaging performance that appeals to audiences of all persuasions.Little Sparrow will be including a new song, 'The Derwent'.

Drawing influences from the likes of Kate Bush, PJ Harvey and All About Eve, Little Sparrow's music creates songs that are filled with a blend of styles, woven into the colourful tapestry of her music, often with a mysterious fairy tale quality.A night featuring outstanding Derbyshire talent!
