Andrew Boyd

This is a show by the artist Andrew Boyd, an artist with a mastery of the techniques of Dutch painting of the golden age.

He also is inspired by the pre-Raphaelites and Victorian romantic artists.

His fascination with technique and the layering and building up of a painting can be seen in both his copies of these artists and the Dutch still life artists.

His own work encompasses sci-fi and steampunk to create works with a technological dystopian edge but also in the manner of the old masters.

There are various nods to the Renaissance and Art deco in some work but there is also the exquisite realism of his still-life painting to be seen in this show.Charlie Caldecott, curator.
