Swan Sessions Warwick - Dark Side of the Moon

Few albums have had the cultural impact of Pink Floyd's The Dark Side of the Moon.

More than fifty years after its release, its exploration of time, mortality, conflict, greed and the pressure of modern life continues to resonate with audiences around the world.Groundbreaking in its use of studio technology, tape loops, synthesisers and recorded sound, it expanded ideas of what a popular music album could be and remains one of the defining musical statements of the twentieth century.This special performance presents the album in a new chamber arrangement by The Swan's Artistic Director, David Le Page, revealing fresh perspectives on a work whose musical and emotional power remains undiminished.

The concert opens with music by Dowland, Purcell, Vaughan Williams, Walton and Britten, tracing a thread through the English musical tradition and providing a fascinating backdrop to one of Britain's most influential and enduring artistic achievements.This concert has no interval.
