Grote Geelstaart walks the tightrope like an acrobat who could lose their balance at a moment’s notice.

Noise orchestrated in such a way that it bubbles to a boiling point.

They haul a sizeable mountain of gear to every show, including two drum kits and a collection of pedals that would make even a harsh-noise enthusiast blink twice.

With oblique soundscapes over even more oblique time signatures, they create a live show that is as claustrophobic and cramped as a fish out of water.

Grote Geelstaart manages to enchant their audience with their daunting-Dadaist-dance beats.

Their pristine white shirts and colourful ties prove to be nothing but a farce.The band performed at festivals like Valkhof and Into The Great Wide Open in the lead-up to the release of their debut EP Van Reijnst.

After the release, they toured across the Netherlands at a high pace during Popronde, ending with a spot on the MAX during the Eindfeest at the Melkweg.

They started off 2026 with a successful show at Noorderslag.

On the 17th of April Grote Geelstaart released Vracht 7, the first single of their forthcoming EP.

Vracht 7 appears at the start of a busy festival season, with confirmed slots at Best Kept Secret, Dauwpop, and Oerol in the Netherlands, and multiple shows in Germany, Belgium, and Portugal.

On the 18th of September the band will release Wij Zinken, their second EP.
