Nlcs - Connections With Nature Charity Event - Ibba Girls Boarding School

An evening in which the creative arts dare to make a difference.Following the great success of last year's Global Sisterhood event, we are delighted to invite you to another vibrant evening at NLCS, celebrating the creativity and talent of our pupils around this year's powerful theme: Connections with Nature.Through this evening of creativity and collaboration, we will seek to rediscover, unfold, reveal and explore - both to you and to ourselves, our connection with the natural world. The event will feature exciting collaborations with our NLCS sister schools, alongside special remote presentations from the Ibba Girls Boarding School.

The evening will showcase our pupils' own writing and readings, as well as musical performances and art displays, celebrating the many ways in which young people connect with and respond to nature.Importantly, the event will also raise funds in support of the Friends of Ibba Girls School (FIGS), South Sudan, helping us to strengthen the connections within our global sisterhood.Information about the Charity - Formed in 2011, Friends of Ibba Girls School is a UK charity set up in response to a specific request from community leaders in Ibba County, South Sudan, to help them build and develop a girls residential school. The community donated over 100 acres of land, and generous international supporters enabled the construction of the initial buildings and infrastructure, and the school opened in March 2014 to its first cohort of 40 girls. Thanks to the hard work of the girls and their teachers, together with continued generosity of donors, the school has continued to grow and now has students in every class from Primary 4 to Secondary 4.

Looking to the future, Friends of Ibba Girls School is committed to a long-term working partnership with the Ibba Girls Boarding School trustees and governors, to develop and sustain the school.
