Artful Connections: Japanese Textile Art With Wendy Elsdon

Come along and discover the beautiful Japanese art of Kinusaiga - a unique form of textile art that creates colourful, detailed pictures using pieces of fabric, without the need for sewing.In this relaxed and friendly workshop, local artist Wendy will introduce you to the basics of Kinusaiga and guide you through creating your own textile artwork. You'll learn how to work with fabric, colour, texture and pattern to build up a beautiful design of your own.
You might choose to create a picture inspired by nature, flowers, landscapes, Japanese imagery or simply something that catches your imagination. Wendy will demonstrate the techniques and support you throughout the session, so you can work at your own pace and enjoy experimenting with this unusual and rewarding artform. No previous experience is needed - just bring your creativity and have a go!A light lunch will be provided free of charge, giving you the chance to relax, enjoy your creative time and have a chat with new friends.Suitable for: Women aged 18+
