Poetry Across Borders: 10 Years of the British Council - Contains Strong Language Festival

We may speak different languages, but people everywhere have more or less the same dreams.

For the past 10 years the British Council has supported international poetry exchanges with Contains Strong Language.

Take a tour of the world through poetry in this event looking at some of the fascinating encounters that the British Council's work has created.

Karen McCarthy Woolf describes an unforgettable trip to the Caribbean; Jay Mitra shares stories of South Asia; and Khadijah Ibrahiim recounts her journey to Brazil.
