Join award-winning artist, tutor and maker Liz Wellby for a creative wire-sculpture workshop, where youll craft charming miniature wire birds, before settling down to enjoy a delicious cream tea in The Fountain Restaurant.As the days grow longer and the weather begins to warm, spring is the perfect season to observe wild birds busily building nests and flitting about. Guided by Lizs expert and encouraging tuition, youll create three small but beautifully characterful wire pieces, all inspired by bird forms. These delightful creations will make eye-catching decorative features in your home and are sure to be admired.Youll work with fine, flexible wire a wonderfully tactile material thats easy to join, wrap, shape and sculpt, all without being hard on your hands. From birds perched on corks to playful swings, this workshop is all about creativity, curiosity and enjoyment.
This workshop is suitable for complete beginners as well as those with experience in a range of creative processes.About the Tutor
Liz Wellby is a highly experienced and versatile artist with a particular passion for sculpture and printmaking. After completing a Fine Art degree at Loughborough University and postgraduate studies, she returned to Derbyshire, where she has lived and worked for over 30 years. Liz runs much-loved creative workshops from her home studio, The Slipper Studio, on the edge of the Peak District, as well as across the East Midlands for museums, galleries, schools and arts societies.Finish with a Delicious Cream Tea
