His performances captivate both the eye and the ear as he transforms the steelstring guitar into a full orchestra - through the use of altered tunings, tapping, partial capos, percussive techniques and his signature twohanded approach.
McKees crossover success has earned him millions of YouTube views and established him as one of todays most distinctive and influential guitarists. His piece Drifting became an early viral sensation, approaching 60 million views. He has appeared on the covers of Acoustic Guitar Magazine in the U.S. and Acoustic Magazine in the UK, and he curates the annual Musicarium guitar retreat.
His global touring schedule includes Europe, Asia, Australia and North America, along with performances alongside artists such as Dream Theater and Tommy Emmanuel. Andy visits the festival fresh from the release of his new six-track EP Symbol, his first new release in nearly a decade.David Browne MurrayOne of our finest home-grown guitar talents, Belfast-based fingerstyle guitarist David Browne Murray studied at Belfast School of Music before earning a scholarship to Berklee College of Music in Boston. He went on to win the Ards Guitar Festival Young Guitarist Competition in 2004 and later claimed the Grand Prize in Lee Ritenours Six String Theory Competition in Montana in 2011.
Since returning to Belfast, David has remained an active force in the local music scene. He has toured Ireland as guest of renowned guitarists including Frank Vignola, Andy McKee, Jan Akkerman and Gareth Pearson, and opened for Tommy Emmanuel in a soldout Ulster Hall the pair later went into the studio to record a duet.
His distinctive approach is influenced by everything from film scores and electronica to choral and orchestral music.
