Ghislaine is a Glossop-based artist with an international reputation as painter of powerful and expressive means.
She was named as a Woman of the Year in 2008 for her contribution to art and society.
In her talk 'A Painter's Journey' she will share with us some of the highlights of that journey, including the presenting one of her works to the late Queen for the Royal Collection and having her 'Pregnant Self-Portrait' shown at the British Museum alongside some of the oldest representations of women, that were made over 30,000 years ago.
Her large painting, 'The New Child' is the centre piece of the current exhibition 'The Labour of Care', at the Whitworth Art Gallery in Manchester until end of August 2027.This event is part of the League of Ladies WI Women's Festival.
Across the day you'll find four inspiring acts celebrating women in and around Glossop, plus a Women-Owned Business Market in the Partington Clubroom from 10am-4pm.
We round it all off with our fabulous Diva's Disco.
