Details

A.A. Williams is a classically trained multi-instrumentalist, vocalist and songwriter who made her first appearance at the Roadburn Festival in 2019 and hasn’t stopped since – including an acclaimed sell-out show at our own Purcell Room in March 2020. After one self-titled EP and the 10-inch vinyl collaboration Exit in Darkness with Japanese post-rockers MONO, London-based Williams signed to Bella Union. Her debut album, Forever Blue, smouldered with uncoiling melodies and haunted atmospheres, shifting from serenity to explosive drama, often within the same song. The pandemic saw A.A. Williams turn her creativity to arranging – first by stripping back other artists’ tracks to their most delicate bones on her Songs from Isolation covers album, and then with a complete reimagining of material from her own debut EP, which became arco. Details of this evening’s performance are under wraps for now, but A.A. Williams is devising a not-to-be-missed experience befitting of the hallowed space of the Queen Elizabeth Hall.
