One man. An armchair. A glass of whisky. And six thrilling shows, based on the ghost stories of Montague Rhodes James.
The supernatural tales of M R James [1862 – 1936] are widely regarded as the finest ever written and, over a century after their first publication, they’ve lost none of their power to terrify and amuse.
James first wrote them to perform to friends in King’s College, Cambridge, in the years leading up to World War One. Now Nunkie Theatre Company has revived this tradition, and brought twelve of the eeriest and most entertaining back to life, in a series of critically acclaimed one-man shows.
Elements of the M R James Project have been performed to sell out audiences all over the UK, Ireland and USA, in a variety of venues, great and small: theatres, libraries, historic houses, churches, hotels, pubs, schools, village halls, martello towers…
