A Christmas Carol A new adaptation of this well-loved magical midwinter ghost story

Baa, Humbug! Christmas isn’t Christmas without Mr. Scrooge – and what a way to get into the seasonal spirit! The Hutton Players magical new production, by Chrissie O’Connor, with William Wells in the title role, boasts beautiful costumes and special effects for a brilliant and entertaining introduction to Dickens’ favourite work.

A snowy and foggy old London of 24 December 1843 is where we begin our journey with Scrooge and the Spirits. Travelling through time to a multitude of places in Scrooge’s past, present and future, we see joy, sadness and frightening prospects … but isn’t the future yet to be written? Of course … and it all depends on the choices of Ebenezer Scrooge. This seasonal classic, with its colourful characters and strong social comment, seems as relevant today as it was 181 years ago. Will Scrooge earn his redemption and ensure a happy ending? Well, it is Christmas!

Featuring some young actors from Store Room Youth Theatre.
